The long awaited weekend – Happy birthday Singapore! And BIG thank you for the holiday it brings :D
Of course, what’s a long weekend without some baking? ;)This is one cake recipe I’ve been eyeing on for a long time now. A japanese cake recipe that cooks the flour first before incorporating it with the whisked eggs. If you’re curious about the whole science of it, you can go here.
Recipe is above in the first link! :) Buttercream is as follows:
125g unsalted butter, cold
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup icing sugar
4 tbsp jam (you can use any type of jam to flavour this ;))
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp grand marnier
– Cream butter, then add the remaining ingredients and beat until smooth. (Yes that’s it hahah)
I love the texture of these rolls. It’s very soft and slightly dense – kind of reminds me of the famous rich and good cake shop with their swiss rolls. I’m definitely gonna test this with a few more flavours soon… *grinz*
Hope you guys had a fantastic break this weekend too!
